Veritas

Veritas GmbH was formed in 1947 by Ernst Loof, the former head of BMW Auto Racing, to design and build sports cars based on the pre-war BMW 328. The intention was to build road cars capable of being raced. Very often they would take a used 328 and then fit it with more streamlined bodywork.

The construction consisted of a finely detailed framework made of thin steel tubing with aluminium bodywork.

By 1950 32 Veritas models had been built, all but one fitted with BMW 328 engines. They were very popular and successful racing cars as well as being stylish road cars as well.

The company ceased production in 1953
